Historical information
The boats of the type "D-3" were produced in the USSR. By the beginning of the war, there were only two boats of such type at the disposal of the Northern Fleet. In August 1941 five more boats were received from the plant in Leningrad. All of them were combined into the separate detachment that was operating up to 1943, until the other "D-3" boats, as well as the lend-lease supplies of the boats of the allies started to arrive to the fleet.
