Historical information:

The Messerschmitt Bf 109, interchangeably called the Me 109, was a German World War II fighter aircraft designed by Willy Messerschmitt and Robert Lusser during the early to mid-1930s. It was one of the first truly modern fighters of the era, including such features as all-metal monocoque construction, a closed canopy, a retractable landing gear, and was powered by a liquid-cooled, inverted-V12 aero engine.

Its modifications Bf 109F-4 with more powerful armament, improved armor and other upgrades first appeared in June 1941. Some of the Bf 109F-4/R6 aircraft were equipped with two MG 151/15 guns in containers and served in I./JG 52 in south sector of the Eastern front in Summer 1942.
