Historical information

November 12, 1931 the command of the "Workers' and Peasants' Red Fleet" (Russian: Raboche-Krest'yansky Krasny Flot or RKKF) approved the technical specification for creation two types of armoured boats.

The large armoured boat was designed for the Amur River. It had two 76-mm guns, which were in two armored turrets. The small armoured boat had one 76-mm gun in the turret. Also on armoured boats planned the installation of two light towers with 7.62-mm machine guns.

The large armored boat was named "Project 1124"; small — was named "Project 1125". These ships were very similar in their design.
