The Rubin-type (Project 43) border guard cruisers were designed and built for ASW protection of the USSR naval bases. One of them was a patrol ship named Brilliant that was founded in 1934 and put into service in 1937.
The set includes laser cut frames and photo-etched parts.

Guard ships were meant for naval patrol and intelligence services, guarding and protecting major surface vessels and convoys from submarines, for fighting with the enemy’s aircrafts and in a form of high-speed mine sweepers.
